In today's video I go over the top 5 index funds for 2024 and beyond. I did make a change to this years list compared to years prior, and that is the addition of VASGX - Vanguards Life Strategy Fund. I removed VQNPX from the list mainly because I felt like it performed and was composed too similar to an S&P 500 Fund, and the VASGX offers a more overall approach to portfolio diversification as its 80/20. In reality, VQNPX is still quite good to hold, but if you own VQNPX and say...

Younger generations aren't willing to save . Gen Z wants to start out at the highest standard of living instead of living in an apartment with several friends to share expensives. Those of us that had parents who went through the Great Depression, learned ,that you buy when a person can afford an item, you don't buy an item above your means, be happy with simple things, enjoy time with family, relationships are more important than material things. If this economy crashes, Gen Z wouldn't have a clue how to survive. They need to turn off the phones and start living a real life.

I think people are being greedy. I am lucky to clear even 20k a year since grad school and my husband maybe 65k with 2 jobs. But i feel terrible for my career women friends who want to pay 20k per child in daycare to not even be able to be with their kids while they work overtime at jobs they hate. . . I had career driven parents, i was damaged by daycare and babysitters and everyone around me putting career first had their moms at home during their crutital years of development. . . We live in a very expensive state but health care is provided by the state. Obviously we can't buy a house. I won't deny that inflation is real or money is not important but we are still able to save and so i just don't get it. After seeing how people live in the 3rd world i feel blessed to have a roof. A car. Ac and heating. Even growing a savings is a blessing. . . I know I'll never be able to retire but that is why i am stepping back from working so hard when it matters most in my children's lives. Plus the people who make more money seem to waste it on excessive crap in place of a work life balance. I wanted the comfort of family without all the excessive sweat shop made materials.

Who the hell is making 99k at 20 years old? You just finished high school? This is the kind of backward BS that makes individuals go crazy with investments and saving. They become more greedy and drive the cycle faster of investing and returns that increase inflation and income inequality. How can you make save the same amount of money to your income? Every dollar I make should be invested, how do you pay bills, food, housing?

My portfolio does not just cater for dividend stock, I hold $VFIAX in my Roth IRA and $VTI ( total stock market ETF) in my taxable brokerage account, two of my largest holdings. The individual dividend stock position all compliments the index holdings.

Diversifying portfolio can be challenging without the right guidance. If you lack market knowledge, your best bet is to seek the expertise of an investment coach. That is how I have managed to stay afloat in the market, increaseing my portfolio over 60% in the beginning of the year. It is the best way to start up investment in my opinion.

A common tendency among individuals is to underestimate the value of professional advice until personal challenges become overwhelming. Several years ago, amid a lengthy divorce process, I faced a critical juncture in maintaining the financial stability of my firm. Seeking out accredited advisors, I connected with an expert possessing top qualifications. Through her guidance, my reserves surged from $275k to $850k despite inflation.

It is safer, in my opinion, to diversify your investments, especially if you are doing so with professional advice. You may decrease the impact of a market crash by distributing your assets over a range of asset classes, such as stocks, exchange-traded funds, and so forth. Seeking expert advice is essential.

All depends how you want to look at it I suppose. People who want to get all high and mighty about "ooohhh you paid off your loan early! You could've made more in investing!" Right, because you all have a crystal ball that says you get to live to 60-80 years old. News flash: US life span is actually on the decline now 🤣One day you wake up and find you might have a terminally ill condition and suddenly, your perception of reality is forever changed. You don't get to take a single cent with you when you get to that door, idc how smart you think you are financially, you still take the same crappy boat. I personally prefer not to allow someone else, i.e a bank, to have leverage over me, so I would pay off a home faster If I could. The home becomes your asset at that point and it can open up all kinds of doors once you no longer have monthly debt obligations, i.e freedom. If not for me, then pass it down to the next gen after I'm gone, generational wealth.

It's impressive how much you saved during your working years, a feat not many achieve in a lifetime. I bought a new Tesla with plans to keep it for years. My car insurance dropped substantially, charging it at home costs $30 a month (I drive 2,000 miles a month), and there are no more oil changes.

Another fantastic video! I’m curious if it’s worth paying down your principle even if it’s not your forever home. If we know we are going to eventually sell this house, should we pay down the principal so we get a bigger check when we do sell, or focus on investing?

Now do a comparison of buying a similar car with cash. I mean actually buying (not taking out debt) and calculate total cost of ownership. It seems that would lower cost of ownership even more.

4/4. About to be debt free next year. But I could be debt free now if I chose to spend the capital.
